In Loki Season 2, TVA has shifted its focus, becoming an organization tasked with safeguarding the multiverse’s stability. Alongside this, they also keep an eye on variants of Kang the Conqueror. Therefore, TVA reaches out to Deadpool with hopes of cooperation rather than elimination. In other words, they want Deadpool to become their “hunter.” However, the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer indicates that this plan didn’t go as smoothly as TVA hoped.
Deadpool’s Unpredictability and TVA’s Ambitions
Initially, Wade Wilson seems enthusiastic about this cooperation proposal. However, things quickly take a 180-degree turn, with scenes of Deadpool killing TVA employees indicating that the mercenary won’t play the role of a loyal hunter. Deadpool 2, especially its conclusion, provided an excellent springboard for bringing the immortal mutant into the MCU, although at the time of its release, perhaps even the production team hadn’t considered this scenario. In that film, Deadpool engaged in time travel and made significant alterations to his timeline, including resurrecting Vanessa and defeating the unsatisfactory X-Men Origins: Wolverine version. Deadpool even ventured into other universes, including the real world when he prevented Ryan Reynolds from joining the Green Lantern project.

If Deadpool decides to betray TVA and cooperate with his own variants and other superheroes or supervillains, this could lead to the Secret Wars event in the upcoming Avengers 6 blockbuster. This is currently one of the most discussed hypotheses among fans, especially with a significant Easter egg in the closing scenes of the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer.
Specifically, just before Wolverine captures Deadpool, we can see a copy of Jonathan Hickman, Esad Ribíc, and Ive Svorcinaon’s Secret Wars #5 lying on the ground next to Wade Wilson. This could indicate that Deadpool & Wolverine will directly connect to the events in Avengers: Secret Wars. This would make sense if Deadpool confronts Wolverine in The Void, a place that will exist when the multiverse is destroyed and could serve as the main battlefield in the upcoming Avengers blockbuster.
